Apology
First of all, I am apologizing for not updating this blog recently. Because of my dial-up connection to the internet, I can’t update my blog whenever I like. First of all I have to write the entry with a HTML or text editor. Then, I have to paste that entry into the posting system when I go online next. It is a bit of a hassle, but I think it is the only solution.
Reason
Anyway, the main excuse that I have for not writing beforehand is my family’s recent trip to Toowoomba. We had to go down there to help someone pack up a home. Because of work restraints, we were only able to stay down there two nights. Basically, we left our place early Wednesday morning, staying at Pittsworth (a town near Toowoomba) that night. We then continued into Toowoomba, packed up the house, stayed down at Withcott that night, and left early Friday morning. When we arrived back at Yeppoon, it felt like we hadn’t been anywhere!
Our Old Home
One thing that I haven’t told you before is that we used to live in Southbrook, a small (very small) town roughly half-way between Toowoomba and Pittsworth. We drove through it, and because we all wanted to see our old home again, Dad drove up our street. The street itself was unchanged, but our house was amazingly different! The people who we sold it too had changed the house so much it wasn’t funny! Outside, they had added more rooms and undercover areas, as well as pulling down some stuff that we had built : – (. Inside, the house was unrecognizable. The people had moved fireplaces, windows and doors, as well as converting the old playroom into sort of entertainment area.
Because the block of land was only about 1 acre, there was hardly enough room to swing a (big) cat. Probably the most amazing thing is that the family was quite young, with two parents, a baby and two girls both younger than me. They hadn’t been there that long either, only about 4 years.
