Mint is an aromatic herb almost exclusively used for flavouring. It tastes very fresh and clean, a lot like artificial mints. More information can be found on the Wikipedia mint article. By the way, I think that the mint below is the garden type. There are actually about 25 species and many more varieties of mint. Of course, more can be found on the Wikipedia article.

By the way, when you go to the shallot image on Contrasting Sharply you might notice that instead of the thick border around the image, you’ll now find a thinner one with some padding. Likewise on the home page, I’ve got rid of the intro text and big clunky borders. Go and have a look!

I am so excited because I’ve just discovered that a picture on my photoblog called Water Cocoon has been voted top of the list for the Photo Friday oddity theme. If you don’t believe me, head over to the Photo Friday archive for the Oddity winners.

For those who don’t know anything about Photo Friday, it is a weekly photo meme that announces a theme every week. People then enter photographs that they have taken. Over the weekend that the next weeks theme has been announced, people vote for who they think should win for last weeks theme. And I won. Below is the photo that won it.

Thanks everyone for voting for me
