  • Byfield

    Byfield is a beautiful region north of Yeppoon, with lush rainforests, crystal clear creeks, long beaches, mountain ranges and “get away from it all” accommodation. Areas of interest include Stony Creek, Waterpark Creek, Byfield National Park & Stockyard Point, and Corio Bay.

  • Causeway Lake, Kemp Beach & Mulambin

    Causeway Lake, Kemp Beach & Mulambin are a series of beautiful spots just south of Yeppoon. Kemp Beach, also a National Park, has very good picnic facilities, such as gas barbecues, tables, toilets and showers. Causeway Lake is a large tidal lake with excellent facilities as well, including a shop & restaurant, toilets, playground and boat hiring service.

  • Emu Park

    Emu Park is the second largest town on the Capricorn Coast, located about 20km south of Yeppoon. One of the main tourist attractions there is the Singing Ship, built in memorial of Captain James Cook who sailed past this area on his voyage of discovery.

  • Keppel Islands

    The Keppel Island group, east of Yeppoon, is a completely different world. Imagine beaches so white that you need sunglasses, fresh ocean breazes, brilliant sunsets and deep blue skies. This is what the Keppel Islands are all about. The biggest and most popular is Great Keppel Island, or GKI, which is surrounded by deserted beaches. Close by are the two main National Park islands, North Keppel Island and Humpy Island.

  • Lake Mary

    The Lake Mary area is a little know haven for bushwalkers, climbers and birdwatchers, about 20km west of Yeppoon. Close by to Lake Mary itself is Mt Hedlow, a large mountain which has great views all around from the top. Running alongside the road is Hedlow Creek, a beautiful ribbon of water in otherwise dry country. The creek is used for canoeing, fishing, swimming and bird watching.

  • Woodbury, Bungundarra & Adelaide Park

    Woodbury, Bungundarra and Adelaide Park are three connected suburbs about 10km north west of Yeppoon. One of the notable attractions in this area is Cooberrie Park, a wildlife sanctuary that cares for many rare and endangered species..

  • Yeppoon

    Yeppoon is a large town 40km east of Rockhampton, built right next to the ocean and surrounded by large hills. There are two main shopping centres, Keppel Bay Plaza and Yeppoon Central. Please see the Yeppoon Accommodation page.
